Way of Harmony Martial Arts teaches all aspects of the internal martial arts. Our approach is to be able to use the internal arts to increase health, assist in healing and to be able to apply internal principles to real fighting involving modern fighting arts of all kinds.

Way of Harmony Marital Arts works in the Mental, Physical and Martial Science of the arts.
Our goal is to remove all the excess and examine what works.
Way of Harmony hosts open door classes in the Cleveland area. Forms taught include Yang style Taiji and Dragon style Bagua along with fighting applications from both forms. Qigong instruction is also taught as a foundation piece of these internal systems.
Our instructors are experienced martial artists with a passion for teaching. They provide individualized attention and guidance to each student, helping them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. With their encouragement and support, our students gain confidence and self-discipline both on and off the mat.
Joe started the martial arts in 1962 and had been learning, studying and practicing almost everyday since 1962, except for being on vacation, hospitalized or unable to practice because of employment. Joe taught internal martial arts based on the Chinese Internal systems of Tai Chi Chuan and Bagua with application to modern fighting and incorporating MMA tactics and practices. Joe was ranked as an Eighth Dan/Sash in the Universal Martial Arts Federation under Hanshi Joe Panaccione and was Founder of the Way of Harmony (Internal martial arts system based on Internal Chinese Fighting Principles).
Kevin Lovas began his martial arts studies in 1972 in the system of Isshin Ryu Karate. In 1974 Kevin began training in Plum Blossom Preying Mantis Kung Fu, studying with Master Jang Soo Son for the next 18 years.
In 1974 Kevin began studying with Joe Cavallaro concurrent with his other training. Studies with Joe included Internal training in Taiji and Bagua along with exploration of an array of styles, including Chinese Boxing, Penjat Silat, Jeet Kun Do, Ju Jitsu, Western Boxing, weapons and meditation. Joe formulated this unique style as Way of Harmony Martial Arts system. Kevin has taught Way of Harmony for the past thirty years in the Cleveland area.
Jim Kepner Ph.D. is a psychologist in private practice in Cleveland and on the professional staff of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. He is the author of the books Body Process: a Gestalt approach to working with the body in therapy and Healing Tasks: psychotherapy with adult survivors of childhood abuse. He teaches Gestalt Body Process Psychotherapy internationally and is the the co-originator of Nervous System Energy Work. Jim holds the rank of 7th level Red Sash in the Way of Harmony, Path of the Sun.
